Analysis: Dave got a great week from his running backs, adding two points to his total and increasing his lead over Jeff from one point to two. Matt remained at 50 points overall and is still technically in contention, but it seems to be down to Dave and Jeff.

There are two weeks of games left -- about 20 this coming weekend and just one (Army-Navy) the following Saturday -- but remember that conference championship games do NOT count toward our totals. I've had a couple people ask when is "too soon" to put in a roster move, and although I've never set a specific cutoff time, I think I should do so just in case there are any player disputes. I'll begin accepting roster changes at noon each Sunday (assuming that the player you're trying to replace and the one you're picking up have already played that week), and I'll go by email timestamp so there's no debate.

As always, email me at shorts723@yahoo.com if anything looks incorrect or if you'd like to make a roster change.

Rule clarification

I mentioned something regarding the SEC championship game in my post yesterday, but just to clarify, conference championship games and bowl games do NOT count toward scoring. Points are accumulated in regular-season games only.

I just wanted to remind everybody so you can plan your roster moves accordingly over the next two weeks.

Analysis: Jeff had a relatively poor weak in the receiving categories but gained ground in rushing touchdowns, keeping him at 54 points and allowing him to get one point closer to the lead when Dave lost the top spot in defensive yards per game. Bob (with Alabama) is very close to Dave (with Florida) in both defensive categories, so the points allowed by Alabama and Florida this weekend might end up deciding our overall title. It's still primarily a two-man race, but Matt has nudged his way up into contention and is now just five points out of the lead.

Correction

Hey guys, I noticed that there were a couple minor errors in the numbers I posted the other day because I was accidentally going off rosters from the previous week. Lo siento. Everything is fixed now, and there were no changes to anyone's point totals or the overall standings.

Week 12 roster update

* In a non-injury move, Justin has dropped Stanford WR Ryan Whalen and picked up Boise State WR Austin Pettis. Whalen is now available.

* In a non-injury move, Jeff has dropped Idaho WR Max Komar and picked up Oregon State WR James Rodgers. Komar is now available.

* In an injury move, Matt has dropped Buffalo WR Naaman Roosevelt (knee) and picked up Houston WR Tyron Carrier. Roosevelt is now available.

* In an injury move, Matt has dropped Fresno State RB Ryan Mathews (concussion) and picked up Oregon RB LaMichael James. Mathews is now available.

* In a non-injury move, Dave has dropped San Diego State WR DeMarco Sampson and picked up Tulsa WR Damaris Johnson. Sampson is now available.

Analysis: With TCU's relatively mediocre defensive performance against Utah, Jeff dropped a couple points overall and Dave slid ahead into first place, meaning someone other than Jeff is in the lead for the first time since Week 5. Dave has made up ground in rushing and receiving touchdowns, but Jeff is very close to Matt in the passing categories and could steal a few points there. It should be a tight race. Everything else is pretty much the status quo.

Analysis: We have a ballgame. Dave put together probably the best week in college fantasy football history and is now tied for first with Jeff.

Seriously, look at the numbers: Joe Webb, who was just picked up this week for Todd Reesing, accounted for six touchdowns by himself. Webb went off for 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns and added a 14-for-19, 292-yard, four-touchdown passing performance. Colt McCoy chipped in with 470 passing yards, Jordan Shipley had 273 receiving yards, and UTEP's Donald Buckram had 234 rushing and three touchdowns to go along with 109 receiving yards and a TD. And so on ...

Jeff had a couple guys on bye and is still in solid shape, but we should have a pretty good battle down to the end. And with Jeff losing several points off his total, Matt is now just six behind the leaders. There is still quite a bit of fluctuation in the two categories mentioned last week -- points per game allowed and receiving yards -- so there's definitely the potential for more big changes in the last couple weeks.

Analysis: Not much changed this week, although Jeff lost two points from his total while Dave slid back three points, allowing Matt to jump into a tie second. Justin moved all the way up from last to fifth, taking a couple points from just about everybody.

Two categories that are incredibly bunched up right now are receiving yards (six teams within about 250 yards) and points per game allowed (a really close group of four teams between 10 points and 11.67 and another group of three right around 19 points).
